End-of-Life Choice - VOLUNTARY EUTHANASIA SOCIETY OF NEW ZEALAND INC

End-Of-Life legislation

ACT leader David Seymour's End of Life Choice Bill has now been lodged in the members’ ballot in Parliament. The Bill will not be considered by Parliament unless it is drawn, so for now the fate of the Bill is subject to the randomness of the regular ballots for members Bills.

David urges you to visit the website at www.lifechoice.org.nz and register to be kept informed of developments.

The End of Life Choice Bill was removed from the Parliamentary Ballot Box in 2013. In July 2015 it was revised by Maryan Street and a committee from the National Committee of the Voluntary Euthanasia Society NZ. It is largely the same but has some significant changes. The result is the End of Life Options Bill. This is not an official Bill because it hasn’t yet been introduced to Parliament but will be a focus of discussion at the Select Committee and may well be introduced to the Ballot Box in the future, depending on a number of factors.
